FTN Episode 441 – Fight Last Vs Fight Fights – The Battle of the Century!

FTN small square

We take the opportunity to look at the Fights Last vs Fight First mechanic in the game.  With the release of the Chaos Space Marine codex there are a bunch of ways to pull off a Fights Last effect on charging opponents.  It will definitely let the Chaos players control the momentum of combat.  This isn’t just about Chaos so there should be something here for all generals.

Hey all,

Please consider grabbing an FTN T-shirt to help us celebrate the shows anniversary. The link can be found here. Proceeds will go to doing something nice for cast members of the show. The sticker is cool too and has been on my laptop for a year.

We sort of center the conversation around Chaos Space Marines in this episode but the concepts aren’t limited to them.  There are a lot of ways to get Fights Last in the game but right now it looks like Drukhari and Chaos Space Marines do it best.  You do not want to go into them unprepared.

Last episode we talked about Shadows Edge Miniatures and their project. He’s got a kickstarter going now for what are sure to be more awesome products and you can find it here.

Even armies like Necrons and the Silent King have the ability to pull off a cheeky Fights Last.  Players need to ask themselves, how do they deal with it.

It’s not all doom and gloom, it’s a great mechanic.  Players should be using this as the Fight Phase is extremely deadly and sometimes a difficult situation to navigate.  Why not give yourself a leg up by taking the wind out of the sails of the charging units?
